The ISRS-AC is regularly conducting various remote sensing awareness events to fulfil the objectives of ISRS, among the students, research scholars, faculty members of academic institutes, other professionals and the local community. During 2021, the chapter organized a number of activities such as celebrating National Remote Sensing Day, National Science Day, World Water Day, World Meteorology Day, GIS Day, World Ozone Day, World Oceans Day, Antarctica Day, World Environment Day etc. The chapter also did extensive hand-holding with local chapters of other professional societies, academic institutes and organizations to enhance the outreach activities under the ‘’Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’’ (AKAM). RS related drawing & painting completion, science quiz, popular lectures, webinar, workshop, screening of documentaries etc. are some of the major activities taken up during 2021 to make the members and end-users aware of recent developments in the field of remote sensing and geoinformatics. ISRS-AC, regularly organizes Prof. P. R. Pisharoty Memorial Lecture series. This year, it was conducted on August 17, 2021 along with celebration of National Remote Sensing Day -2021 program. Various ISRS-AC activities provided an excellent platform and opportunity for scientists, researchers, practitioners, entrepreneurs and students to exchange their research ideas, discuss and formulate plans and implementation the policies, update the knowledge base, and interact with experts and peers on various issues at local to national levels.
